Woodkid – Do You Love Me After All

Goodbye Woodkid?

After years of working in different endeavors, Woodkid is saying goodbye to The Golden Age. He parted ways with the last visual from the project, but officially washes his hands of it with “Do You Love Me After All.” While we may not hear much music from him in the coming months (or years?) because he wants to dive into his first feature film, as well as other things, he promises to be back soon.

You can read his goodbye letter to fans, which thanks them for the support and listen to his one-take somber piano track after the jump.

The Golden Age has been an incredible adventure.
6 years ago I was just a little indie filmmaker working hard to pay my rent and I wrote my first songs almost as a joke. I would have never thought I’d end up singing on stage for hundreds of thousands of people one day. I’ve carried this project like a baby, every day of my life for 4 years, and got a bit lost sometimes.

I have to take some time off now to think about the future and work on other projects, make more music, soundtracks, open my mind again, focus on my first feature film, and alternative forms of art I want to develop.
Thank you all for being part of this great surprise in my life, thank you for following me.

So here is just a one take demo I recorded on my piano last night.
Nothing better than a good old depressing love song as a goodbye to this album… but don’t worry, I’ll see you very soon.

Do you love me after all ? Because I do.

x
Yoann
