In early August, XL Recordings unveiled their Pay Close Attention website, breaking down the label’s growth of underground DJs and members of their roster who have made a substantial impact in music. It was all to celebrate 25 years of existence for founder Richard Russell and co, and their 35-track compilation finally arrived this past Tuesday. To coincide with the release, Russell stopped by BBC Radio 1 with Benji B during his 2am show last night, in order to discuss making history over two and a half decades, along with playing music through the 120-minute slot.

The playlist had everything from Liquid, The Prodigy, Dizzee Rascal, Radiohead, Gil Scott-Heron, Bobby Womack, Tyler, The Creator, King Krule, Jamie xx and Jai Paul.

Listen after the jump.
