The New York Knicks Will Struggle to the Playoffs
We have to be completely honest, we genuinely feel sad for New York Knicks fans this year. Not because Phil Jackson is still forcing his triangle system that worked in years past; but simply because the team will under-achieve. On paper, you would expect the Knicks to be an automatic playoff contender, if you’re just looking at their starters. But this season will solely rely on the production of their bench.
We expect them to remain healthy most the year, including Derrick Rose, whose had issues with injuries in the past. Looking back at the bench, Phil managed to sneak away with Brandon Jennings, as well as signing international 27-year-old Mindaugas Kuzminskas to help out Melo on the wing.
With Anthony looking to become a better play maker for role players around Penn Plaza after decreasing his attempts per-game to just 16 last season, he’ll have enough pieces to at least be in the conversations come next April. But like we said, this team will struggle due to internal coaching issues and their horrific bench, unless the Zen Master is able to bring in deadly shooting guard.
