Is Kyrie Irving Making Boston a Superstar Destination?
After having a falling-out with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers front-office over the summer, Danny Ainge made a power-move in the Eastern Conference to land superstar, Kyrie Irving. For the last three consecutive seasons, he had been under the shadow of King James, who he helped score Cleveland their first major sports championship in over fifty years.
With the Cavs planning to present him with a video tribute package for tonight’s big rivalry game, Kyrie is looking to prove to the rest of the world that he was the real closer of the Cavaliers championship run in 2016. Now, aligning himself with Gordon Hayward, Al Horford and head coach Brad Stevens; many believe the Boston Celtics can be a legitimate threat to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
While the team may not have experienced depth, watching Kyrie have a breakout 50-win year season could propel them into becoming the second biggest free agency destination next summer. We expect Adam Sliver to force a return to the old Lakers-Celtics rivalry in the next few years.
