Prior to this year, nobody expected AJ Styles to ever step into a WWE ring, much like how his friend and recently retiree Sting did in the past. However, the former ROH and TNA star made his debut with the company at the Royal Rumble, where he made an instant connection with fans.
The dream match scenarios in the company soon started, as fans wanted to see him pitted immediately with the top stars. Vince wanted The Phenomenal One to get his feet wet with a upper-carder and the former undisputed champion, Chris Jericho. While the outcome may have pissed off some viewers, Styles being on the grandest stage alone made our night.
