Baron Corbin’s Surprise Push
It’s rare that WWE marks accept former professional football players, but Baron Corbin is a different breed, who’s been working down in their developmental brand NXT for the last four years. The third annual Andre The Giant Battle Royal, featured a group of mid-carders and past veterans, with hopes of putting over another future star in the company (see: Cesaro).
Some of us even believed John Cena would make a surprise return during the match, but Vince McMahon brought out Shaquille O’Neal as the big surprise for the affair. After choke slamming both Kane and Big Show, the other 17 men decided to eliminate The Big Diesel and Giant to make the playing field more even. Corbin would face-off against Kane as the final two in the ring, which resulted in the Big Red Machine exiting the ring not on his own will.
