James Dolan Fall Back

In the NBA, players and coaches feel more comfortable when a former player or league-bred person is in control of an organization. For the Knicks, that obviously hasn’t been the case with James Dolan, who’s been serving as head of basketball operations for New York since 1999.

Although the team made the NBA-finals in the lockout shortened season, fans and players have not been impressed with some decisions he’s made. Higlights from his tenure has been one of the worst NBA draft trades in history, giving away Nene Hilario for Antonio McDyess, drafting Renaldo Balkman ahead of Rajon Rondo, and the endless Eddy Curry situation lasting 5 seasons where he made $35 million. In order for Phil Jackson to succeed, he’s going to need majority control of the Knicks management with James Dolan falling the fuck back.

If Dolan is limited to just having the final say from ideas from Phil, in comparison to coming up with whatever “bright” ideas he’s been doing in the last 15 years, the Knicks will be a better organization from top to bottom.
