Defoe vs. Newcastle
Jermain Defoe may have played in the league last season, but this time it was for someone other than Spurs, a club where he has spent much of his career. Making the move from Toronto, the England striker managed to score four goals in 14 appearances for Sunderland, but his goal against Newcastle was more special than most. Defoe scored the one and only goal of the Tyneside derby, and a volley like that will go down in history in those parts.
