The Western Conference could really be a toss up, where anybody could take the top spot. The defending West Conference champion San Antonio Spurs have brought everyone back this season, but they are an aging team. The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without Russell Westbrook for at least 6 weeks and already have some question marks before that. The two squads who might have the most potential this year are the Golden State Warriors & Los Angeles Clippers. Sorry Lakers fans but that #TankForWiggins campaign is very real.
Both the Warriors and Clippers made some huge moves this offseason that should be able to help them get over the hump and compete for the ultimate goal. Golden State’s addition of Andre Igudola gives them a multitude of options and only increases their already high tempo offense. The Clippers addition of coach Doc Rivers and shooters JJ Reddick & Jared Dudley make them a scary squad to any team. In the West it will all come down to health and which teams can sustain over the long season.
