It’s hard to believe that NBA All-Star weekend is almost here, but we’re not complaining about it. With the starters and reserves already set, we just needed clarity on the weekend’s other festivities. First being the dunk contest, which is the main event of NBA All-Star Saturday night and is always the most anticipated challenge.
The NBA went in a different route with the participants this year, shying away from big names. They recruited the likes of Paul George, John Wall, Damian Lillard, Terrence Ross, Harrison Barnes & Ben McLemore. Glancing at the list, we already know what Paul and Terrence can do, but it will be interesting to see what PG’s Wall and Lillard come up with. There’s no early favorite, but we see Ross and George showing out; and Barnes being the sleeper pick.
Not only were the dunk contest participants announced, but the performers for All-Star weekend were revealed as well, which include the multi-talented Pharrell, Janelle Monae & Rap’s prince Kendrick Lamar. Talk about an All-Star lineup of it’s own!
NBA All-Star Saturday night airs February 16 on TNT.
