Marcus Mariota, Oregon
This year’s Heisman winner has garnered much buzz leading up to the draft, largely because of his ability as a dual-threat quarterback and his upside as a player. He’s a natural leader who put up pretty gaudy numbers during his days as an Oregon Duck, and is definitely one of the standout quarterbacks in this year’s pool.
He’s tall and runs like a damn Clydesdale, which is similar to the style of Colin Kaepernick—both players are athletic but can also stand tall in the pocket and let ‘er rip.
When it comes down to who might draft him, it’s looking like the Philadelphia Eagles are going to make a power play for the top prospect in the first round, with his former college coach Chip Kelly stating that he’s willing to sell the farm for Mariota. Wherever he ends up will be happy, as they’ll have a day one starter who’s filled to the brim with potential.
