Sammie Coates, Auburn
When it comes to ceilings, there may not be a receiver with a higher one than Sammie Coates’ in this year’s group. He lit up this year’s combine workouts and received some of the best numbers of anyone participating in the vertical leap, bench press, broad jump and 20-yard shuffle.
He’s a raw prospect, but overall an athletic freak with the makings of an elite NFL receiver. He always showed up in big games for Auburn—especially with his 206-yard, two touchdown game versus Alabama in last year’s Iron Bowl.
At the end of the day, he’s rough around the edges, but you can’t ignore his potential, and that will be what drives him up draft boards.
