While the top teams in the NBA continue battling it out in the conference finals, the bottom teams are having a fight of their own: ping pong balls hoping for the best possible result in the NBA Draft.
There are a few storylines heading into the lottery results to keep in mind. For one, the Los Angeles Lakers need to remain in the Top 3 to keep their pick (or else it goes to the Philadelphia 76ers). At best case scenario for the Sixers, they lock down the No. 1 pick and steal the Lakers No. 4 pick, which would completely load them up with young talent for the future. Also, thanks to past trades, the Brooklyn Nets will not have a pick in this year’s draft, they will be giving it to the Boston Celtics. The Minnesota Timberwolves also have a fair chance of getting the No. 1 pick after scoring last year with Karl-Anthony Towns (10.68%).
