Here’s a recap of all the deals from around the league!
With the 2016 NBA Season move than half-way complete and the playoffs set to begin in just over two months, many leagues looked to upgrade their rosters today – as well as looking to build for the future. The big talk surrounding today, was whether or not Dwight Howard would be traded from the Houston Rockets. While Howard and his camp were reluctant to sign an extension with the Milwaukee Bucks and others, he’ll have to finish out the season with James Harden.
Kevin Love also managed to keep his roster spot, alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, as Dan Gilbert and David Griffin weren’t trigger-happy to break up their nucleus of the big three. There was one big trade winner in the west, which could shake up the western conference playoffs – being the x-factor this May in Staples Center against the the obvious three elite teams.
If you notice Carmelo Anthony above, the New York Knicks failed to make any progression in adding pieces to their team – given a limited roster of talent having them out of playoff contention. They’ll likely make an aggressive run at Kevin Durant this summer (like every other team), selling him the idea of playing with the 20-year-old breakout player, Kristaps Porzingis.
