Cleveland Cavaliers get: Channing Frye
Portland Trail Blazers get: Anderson Varejao, first-round pick from Cavs
Orlando Magic get: Jared Cunningham, second-round pick from Blazers
Even with the best record in the Eastern Conference, some people feel the Cleveland Cavaliers are underachieving. From firing David Blatt, losses to San Antonio and Golden State a few weeks ago, and 2-game losing skids at times throughout the year; the Cavs are still a team to lookout for. For some reason, we question their latest acquisition of Channing Frye, as their answer to defeat the Golden State Warriors – if they do have a finals rematch in June.
Frye, who is a veteran, has long-range capabilities; but hasn’t had number called in big games for some years. With questions regarding his toughness and ability to guard elite big-men that Kevin Love obviously can’t guard, the team should’ve focused on getting a more consistent shooting guard. Portland’s still in rebuilding mode, after losing LaMarcus Aldridge and we still have no idea what the hell Orland is doing in their post-Dwight Howard era.
