Brad Stevens
Our personal pick among all coaches around the world, is Boston Celtics newcomer Brad Stevens. The 38-year-old, is one of the more respected coaches around the NBA and has even turned the Boston Celtics into a legitimate playoff contender – in the Eastern Conference that is.
Surprisingly, the youthful coach has serious experience under his belt to be under the age of 40, dating back to his 15-year tenure with Butler University. With limited recruiting in comparison to larger programs around the country, he managed to take the Bulldogs to the Final Four twice in his six-year tenure in Indianapolis. Much like his College career, his professional career is being hindered momentarily until the New England team develops more talent.
However, the Team U.S.A. situation is the perfect scenario for both parties, as Stevens is one of the few coaches who can relate to players; while still having an old school work-first mindset. He has an age advantage over the rest of the field and can manage a full-time career with the Celtics, as well as an off-season with the Men’s Basketball team.
We just hope the rest of the league doesn’t feel he’s under-experienced because we already see everything from how he handles himself, players and the game on a nightly basis.
