Vince Carter Relives His Epic 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest Experience

Will anybody ever top this perfection?

The NBA All-Star weekend hasn’t been the same in recent year unfortunately, due to the lack of innovation and excitement for Saturday night’s premiere event – the Slam Dunk contest. While the league has seen the majority of its top flight players participate every year (with the exception of King James, of course), it’s still managed to leave a bleak and underwhelming experience for many fans like ourselves.

It’s became so disappointing, that we’re actually intrigued more for the three-point shooting contest this weekend featuring Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and James Harden. One of the greatest performers ever in the dunk contest will forever be Vince Carter, as the former superstar sits down with NBA TV to explain how he felt he could jump to the moon – and his insane acrobats that night weren’t too far-fetched.

Hopefully Victor Oladipo, Zach LaVine, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Mason Plumlee can bring some fresh air to the contest this weekend when they take court in Brooklyn.
