One of the most respectable player-coach relationships in the history of not only the NBA, but in all of sports has been the unique bond formed by Tim Duncan and Gregg Popovich. In their career together for over 16-years, the two have won four championship titles together spanning since 1999 and even have a shot at winning one this year against the NBA Finals. Former Spurs assistant coach, P.J. Carlesimo, David Robinson, Bruce Bowen and Sean Elliot speak on the dynamic relationship the two have sighting the rarity it is for a superstar to allow a coach to do his job (coach the stars).
The two formed a dynasty winning 4 NBA titles in 9 years, setting a precedent for the league to follow when the two’s career together ends.
