Aaron Rodgers Has Hail Mary Prayer Answered in this Impossible 61-Yard TD Victory

From Rodgers to Rodgers, the Packers save their season in Detroit!

This week of NFL games has been more memorable than we can recall in quite some time. If your remember on Monday, the Baltimore Ravens shocked the Cleveland Browns with a walk-off punt-block recovery touchdown, but that crazy ending didn’t have anything on this one.

Thursday night, we saw a must-win game for the Green Bay Packers, who are fighting for playoff positioning in the final month of the 2015 season. With just four more weeks remaining for the year, Green Bay was on the road for a rivalry game against the Detroit Lions and even saw themselves flirting with the possibility of being shutout, down 17-0 at halftime.

However, the MVP of the NFL, Aaron Rodgers willed his team to victory in the second half, throwing for nearly 300 yards, as Matthew Stafford’s comparable performance was overshadowed. The Lions had this game all but won, with intermission coming to an end; but a costly face-mask penalty allowed Green Bay to set up for one final play, and they didn’t pass up on this rare opportunity.

With no time on the clock, Rodgers looked to complete his first ever Hail Mary play, and threw a desperation 61-yard game-winning TD pass to Richard Rodgers, to save their chances at winning the NFC North. This score from Packers marked the largest come-from-behind game-winning touchdown victory since 1961, as Aaron called it the most amazing game of his entire life.

As Green Bay still struggles to cope with losing Jordy Nelson for the season, this victory and an upcoming home game against the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday should give them hope at jumping ahead of the Minnesota Vikings in standings, before their epic season finale showdown on January 3rd. Take a look at the game-winning TD above from Aaron Rodgers to Richard Rodgers.
