At last, the NFL postseason begins today with Wild Card weekend on deck. The first game of the 2013 postseason features a matchup that most thought wouldn’t happen as the Cincinnati Bengals travel and face the Houston Texans.

Before December started, the Texans were believed by many to be the best team in all of football but finished out the month losing three of their last four games. Their inconsistency on the field would eventually lead to them falling behind Denver and New England in the standings which would ultimately erase their hopes of having Wild Card bye and most importantly home field advantage in the playoffs.

Surprisingly, some are taking the Bengals to pull the upset in today’s game with the recent struggles Matt Schaub has endured with not a single touchdown pass thrown in any of their last four games. Cincinnati’s defensive has had a franchise record in sacks with 51. Defense tackle, Geno Atkins has led the NFL in sacks with 13, the most seen by a tackler in 10 years as the Houston’s offensive line and Matt Schaub will be under constant pressure today on the offensive side of things.

This game basically comes down to which offense is more effective with both teams being ranked in the 10 for best defenses in the NFL which is why I’m picking the Bengals to pull the upset today in Houston.
