This 49ers season is already over before it started
After being reinstated by the NFL last holiday, Aldon Smith has found himself outside of a job leading up to the 2015 season. Following a hit-and-run incident Thursday night, the troubled linebacker was arrested for DUI and vandalism charges in Santa Clara, California. This prompted the San Francisco 49ers to unfortunately part ways with the guy they’ve stood by this decade, as the last public incident was just too much to fathom.
It marked the fifth time that Smith saw an arrest with San Fran; and the 25-year-old issued a statement after his $26,000 bond placing, saying he was innocent of the actions – but couldn’t go into details regarding the events.
Prior to Thursday’s events, TMZ learned this weekend that Aldon got into a scrap with team quarterback Colin Kaepernick during Tuesday’s practice. Multiple players confirmed that the two had to be separated during the on-field altercation, which is reportedly stemming from Smith’s ex-girlfriend – now with Colin.
Whether or not this also tied into the release isn’t in doubt from our perspectives on the situation, but having a physical altercation with star player is something the teammates, coaches and owners aren’t fond of.
