Let us know in the comments your all-time big 3
It’s no secret that Allen Iverson is arguably the most influential basketball player the last 20 years – just ask the elite players of today like LeBron James, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade (see: jersey number).
Approaching the age of 40 later this week, The Answer sat down with Bleacher Report to go through timeline of events in his life on and off the court. From single-handedly taking the Philadelphia 76ers to the NBA Finals in 2001, bringing hip-hop to the mainstream of league and even showing praise for Russell Westbrook, Iverson divulged into various story lines that we didn’t hear throughout his Showtime documentary last month.
One interesting question throughout the lengthy conversation, was his take on the current and past NBA big three teams we’ve seen – something Iverson never had in his career to be successful. Since the Miami Heat’s run this decade to win two consecutive titles, the big three conversation has continued to be one of the hottest debates among fans. Allen revealed two fellow legends he would’ve liked to pair up with, which you can read below.
Your all-time Big Three?
“Wow,” he says dreamily. “Me, Mike and Shaq.” He looks at me. “We’d go 82-0 even with you in the backcourt.”
