Could the Golden State Warriors be on the verge of blowing a 3-1 series lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This goes back to Friday, when Brian Windhorst showed LeBron James the on-court footage of Draymond Green allegedly punching his groin at the end of his game four loss.
The NBA soon ruled Draymond Green was suspended for their original closeout game on Monday night, as he went to an Oakland Athletics game with fellow Bay Area friend, Marshawn Lynch.
During game 5, LeBron had the floor to himself, as he and both Kyrie Irving became the first teammates ever in NBA Finals history to score 40 points in the same game. During the game, Warriors center, Andrew Bogut left early after landing awkwardly on a contested shot by J.R. Smith.
Bogut fully extended his knee and hit to ground screaming briefly screaming in pain before he was helped back to the locker room. After further evaluations, the Golden State medical staff ruled Andrew would have to miss the remainder of the Finals for his right knee injury.
Luckily, the MRI revealed that Bogut will not require surgery, but would need 6-to-8 weeks of healing before he’s eligible to participate in physical activities. This is obviously a huge blow to Dub Nation, as they will now have to turn to Festus Ezeli and Anderson Varejão for front-court support.
Let us know in the comments if you think the series may be shifting to the King and company or the if the Warriors still have a favorable position with closing out.
Word is Andrew Bogut (left knee) will be out six to eight weeks and miss the rest of the playoffs
