Colts suffer another injury blow
Andrew Luck has not been playing like himself lately, unless you count the come from behind loss against the Carolina Panthers in overtime or last week’s win against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. Reports have come out that Luck has actually been hurt for a few weeks, but the Colts never listed him in their injury report.
Now Indianapolis will be without their star quarterback for at least two weeks because he has been diagnosed with a lacerated kidney and partial tear of the abdominal muscle after Sunday’s game against the Broncos on a 4th quarter scramble. As of now, there are no signs that the injury will require surgery, but depending on how the healing process goes, Luck can miss up to six weeks.
Luckily, the Colts have a proven winner in backup Matt Hasselbeck, who is 2-0 in his starts this season after Andrew had to miss sometime due to a shoulder injury earlier this season.
“We’ve got all the confidence in the world in Matt Hasselbeck and we’re not going to put Andrew back out there until he’s healed and ready to go.” – Chuck Pagano
UPDATE: According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, Luck could be out at least a month and they’re describing his injury as something typical to a car crash.
Colts realistically expect Andrew Luck to miss at least a month with lacerated kidney and abdominal muscle injury, per @Edwerderespn.
