Ben Roethlisberger Reacts to Tom Brady’s DeflateGate Ruling Before Thursday Opener

The DeflateGate ruling didn’t surprise Big Ben!

Without Martavis Bryant and Le’Veon Bell, the Pittsburgh Steelers still feel confident they will spoil the New England Patriots Super Bowl celebration this week. Before Thursday’s showdown, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger voiced his thoughts on the controversial Tom Brady DeflateGate ruling last week. He went to say “I just felt like the league had done something without really – you know, and I wasn’t big in looking at all the details, this and that. Maybe just more of a feeling — of an inkling — and knowing that the commissioner jumped to a pretty harsh punishment.”

Essentially, Big Ben wasn’t surprised by the 4-game ban lift at all, as fans of Pittsburgh originally expected a scrimmage match-up with the previous Brady-less New England team. Roethlisberger also said “It’s the way that NFL football should start, and that’s maybe one of the reasons I knew that Tom would be out there, because I knew the NFL doesn’t want to start a game without him out there. Nerves will be running, jitters will be running for everybody. For young guys, I think it’s fun that they get to experience this, and even old guys like myself, I’m sure I’ll be nervous.”

While Big Ben obviously didn’t throw shade at Tom Brady, New England has serious issues with the NFL and are expected to run up the score board Thursday night in pursuit of another Lombardi.
