Ben Simmons Describes the Student-Athlete Experience at LSU

We haven’t seen Ben Simmons officially in an NBA regular season game thanks to that foot injury which has sidelined him indefinitely, but through Showtime’s ONE & DONE documentary, we’ll get to see an inside look at the Philadelphia 76ers rookie.

In this clip from the doc, Ben talks about his experience at LSU as a student-athlete and how the school promoted him as a star, yet treated him like just another person.

He also mentions how much people want to be around him and be his friend because he was going to go to the NBA and be famous, but he emphasizes how much he doesn’t have friends. We’ve heard Simmons speak on how broke he was during his college days, while the college was making millions, something he didn’t agree with.

You can see this and much more when ONE & DONE airs tonight on Showtime at 9pm EST.
