Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby Reacts To Playoff Ranking

NCAA Basketball: Mark Emmert-Press Conference

This could be a catalyst for change

After the Big 12 Conference was left out of the first ever college playoffs Top 4 teams, commissioner Bob Bowlsby will now look to make some changes for next year as to how they crown the conference champion. This year, both Baylor and TCU were considered co-champions, because the Big 12 only has 10 teams and only conferences with 12 can have a championship game.

The Big 12 would have to add another two teams or the NCAA would have to approve a waiver to make it happen with the current 10.

“It’s clear that we were penalized for not having a postseason championship game. It would have been nice to have been told that ahead of time.”

Whether or not it happens, is yet to be seen but in the midst of the controversy, we’re sure that the College Football Playoff Committee does something to change the strategy for next year.
