College Football Playoffs Will Be Just As Controversial As The BCS
Everything is supposed to be all fine and dandy next year in college football with the BCS leaving and a playoff system being put in, right? Maybe. The problem with it is that a committee is still selecting the four playoff teams, which basically means we’re setting ourselves up for more potential chaos. Some years it might turn out fine, just like the BCS was, but others will turn catastrophic.
How will the committee determine which 4 teams make it if multiple squads have the same records? Will an at-large team ever be in contention? Will they change the current algorithm and criteria for college rankings moving forward? There are just too many questions leading up to the first year that would make us feel comfortable thinking it is going to run smoothly.
