If you would have asked anyone outside of the Massachusetts area (or even people in the state), there would be far and few who would have said the Celtics were going to top the Cleveland Cavaliers for the No. 1 spot in the Eastern Conference. Most would rank the team at the bottom half of the standings, and the most optimistic, maybe Top 4.
The Celtics have exceeded expectations this season and the future is more than bright.
They hold what is set to be the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft (thanks to the Brooklyn Nets being horrible), they’re going into the playoffs with home court advantage, and life is good.
Tonight’s 112-94 home win against the Milwaukee Bucks clinched the No. 1 seed, giving them a two-game lead against the Cavs in the top of the conference race. They will now face the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the playoffs, a matchup that saw the teams split 2-2 this season.
Clap for Isaiah Thomas, Al Horford and company for this.
