While much of the attention has been put on the controversy surrounding Suarez, which resulted in a four-month suspension and nine-game ban from international games, Uruguay have had a pretty solid run in their group. Although they couldn’t find a winner against Costa Rica, Uruguay beat the two tougher teams in the group in England and Italy, who both coincidentally didn’t make it through to the knockout stages. The Liverpool man will no longer be taking part, and Cavani and Godin will be reliant in their quest for going further.
