Bulldog and Trojan fans alike have flocked to Nevada to witness No. 20 Fresno State face No. 25 USC at the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl. The sold out game holds big implications for both teams and will be a preview of next season’s opener, as the two team get ready to face each other again in August. A win for Fresno State will set a school record of 12 for the year, coming short of a BCS at-large berth, after choking against San Jose St. down the stretch. A win for USC will be a sigh of relief in a road towards an optimistic future, following a turbulent season, which has seen three coaches take the helm for team

Fresno State has played an impressive season going 11-1 and currently are ranked 20th in the country. Following the exit of Reggie Bush and O. J. Mayo, USC received a 2-year postseason ban that ended this season. Fresno State’s doesn’t have the statistical history of funds USC has, so a loss for the Trojans won’t be as detrimental for their school unlike the Bulldogs.

UPDATE: USC Trojans defeat Fresno State 45-20 In Las Vegas Bowl

Both teams will be looking for a victory today to help give them a better ranking into next season, but the Bulldogs (in our opinion) need this victory more. This game will be decided by the Bulldogs passing attack vs. the USC defensive line. If USC can hold Derek Carr to a slow game, USC can take control, especially with a weak defense from the ‘Dogs.
