While Buddy Hield still gets accommodated with the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans, the last thing we expected from him was an ejection from a game. That came inadvertently on Sunday night thanks to a Flagrant 2 foul against DeMarcus Cousins. During a screen, Hield was trying to get through the big man and struck him in the groin and was immediately called for a foul.
Cousins was screaming for a technical and the referees ended up reviewing the play shortly after.
After looking at the replay, the refs decided to give Buddy a Flagrant 2, to the joy of the Sacramento Kings crowd. Judging from Boogie’s reaction (he didn’t pound Hield immediately after), it’s makes more sense that it was an accident and an ejection shouldn’t have been warranted.
