Chandler Parsons on Pre-Game Music, Joining Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are in the first round of the NBA playoffs this season, going up against a tough Oklahoma City Thunder opponent right now. Chandler Parsons isn’t playing, though.

The Dallas forward underwent arthroscopic surgery in his right medial meniscus last month and is nursing the injury, which effectively ended his 2015-2016 season. Parsons finished the year with a 13.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists stat line over 51 starts.

VICE recently chopped it up with Chandler on a sunny day in Santa Monica, CA the day before Kobe Bryant‘s last game, to talk about an array of things for their Ride Along series.

To kick things off, he gave a little background on how he first got recruited by Billy Donovan and how he felt being drafted into the NBA. He also explained his side of the story about DeAndre Jordan snubbing the Mavs in the offseason and resigning with the Los Angeles Clippers. He says it was disappointing because the organization put their eggs in that basket and things didn’t pan out. He thought he could convince him to switch squads and rock with Mark Cuban.

He then revealed some of the music he likes to listen to before games, surprisingly naming 90s R&B and mushy tracks like Adele that get him hype to kill it on the court.

Whatever floats your boat, G.
