Charlotte to Host 2017 NBA All-Star Game

The Hornets finally get their own all-star game

Over the last 10 years, the Charlotte Hornets have only made the NBA playoffs twice. With a failed experiment of Lance Stephenson last season and Al Jefferson missing time with injuries, the team is looking to land a top player in this Thursday’s NBA Draft with pick no. 9. The team and city of Charlotte have been announced to hold the 2017 NBA All-Star – after agreeing to spend $40 million on the Time Warner Arena for renovation improvements to the facility within the next year. This marks the first time the city will host the black super bowl since previously hosting in 1991, as both Chris Paul and league MVP Stephen Curry will be see a homecoming return to North Carolina.
