In quite easily one of the most difficult games of the season for both sides, Chelsea were able to beat Man City 1-0 away from home. Despite a bright start from City early on, Ivanovic was the unlikely player to grab the only goal of the game, after slotting an unstoppable ball into the corner from distance. An irregular defensive performance from City then became a talking point for the rest of the game, as Chelsea constantly exploited their errors with pace on the counter-attacks. During the later stages of the game, there was a huge call for Nastasic to be given a red card after taking down Oscar, which arguably denied a goal scoring opportunity. However, Mourinho’s men proved to be the dominant side, and in result put an end to City’s unbeaten streak of winning eight straight games in the Premier League.

The result puts both sides level on points, with City having the upper hand on goal difference to maintain second place.
