Chicago Bears fans who might have been nervous about Jay Cutler leaving the Chi, can now exhale and breathe easy. The Bears have signed Cutler to a 7-year extension, worth a reported $17.5M a season, including $50M in guaranteed money.

Cutler’s leadership, ability to win (note: the Bears did not make the playoffs), and toughness were all factors that ultimately helped the franchise decide to stick with him through 2020. He ended 2013 with season with 2,621 yards, 19 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a career-high rating of 89.2. With Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery at wideouts, Cutler is sure to have another monster year, if he stays healthy.

Is this a good move for the Bears moving forward?
