WCW makes another huge acquisition for the Monday night wars!
Last January, reports surfaced that Chris Broussard and ESPN were entering a contract year, where both sides were unsure of a future together. Surprisingly, they couldn’t reach an agreement for an extension, as earlier this weekend, he officially announced his departure from ESPN to Fox Sports 1, which he’ll finally be leaving the horrible weather of Bristol, Connecticut for sunny Los Angeles.
With ESPN beefing up its roster of Scottie Pippen to join Rachel Nichols, as well as maintaining Marc Stein, Zach Lowe and Cari Champion for hoops coverage – Broussard is set to become an “opinionist,” in comparison to his insider/reporter roles from years past.
After his 12-year tenure with ESPN coming to an end, he now rejoins former associates Skip Bayless, Jason Whitlock, Colin Cowherd and Erin Andrews on the west coast.
Let us know in the comments what you think of the latest FS1 acquisition.
Had a wonderful 12 yrs @ESPN! Can't thank them enough for the support & opportunities they gave me. But time for a new chapter in my life.
