CP3 is staying put to retire as a Rocket. . .
After weeks of rumored tension between Chris Paul and the Houston Rockets front-office in regards to a new extension; the league’s best floor leader has agreed to stay put. The 33-year-old superstar has inked a new four-year, $160 million max contract to stay at the hip with James Harden.
Last season, the two were on the brink of reaching an NBA Finals, before CP3 unfortunately got injured – as they lost to the repeat champion Golden State Warriors. Well, considering the team just losing Trevor Ariza to the Phoenix Suns and still having Ryan Anderson’s two-year, $40 million contract under center – we can’t see this team not pushing for another significant piece.
With new ownership not in favor of going out and spending, this new contract for CP3 all but debunks those previous rumors from the experts on TV. We’re of the assumption that Chris agreed to this deal, with Houston well aware of needing to make additional roster adjustments for them to compete with Golden State and now the Los Angeles Lakers.
