Could this be the return of the mack? Austin to start with a clean slate in Cleveland.
Following news of Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon possibly missing the entire season due to a league suspension and Nate Burleson breaking his arm, it appeared Johnny Football may be better off throwing to himself. But in a very smart move, the Browns have signed former Cowboy Miles Austin, who had some very productive years in Dallas. He holds the franchise record for most yards in a game, 250, and had 14 100-yard games. He also made a couple of Pro Bowl appearances in 2009 and 2010. Unfortunately following those great seasons, injury problems kept him sidelined and limited his production which forced the Cowboys to release him in March.
After playing with Tony Romo, Austin and first round draft pick Johnny Manziel will have immediate chemistry, as the two QB’s have similar playmaking abilities. The terms of the deal are not clear right now, but this will definitely give Manziel a go to option in case Gordon is forced to miss the year. The Browns have also shown interest in Santonio Holmes, and their offense would drastically improve if they brought him in.
The Browns organization appears to be headed in the right direction with their draft picks this year as well as FA signings. Kudos to them.
