After much speculation about what they’d do with the second overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns have pulled the trigger and traded away their selection. The Philadelphia Eagles have inked a deal with the Dawg Pound, sending five picks to Cleveland in exchange for two.
As part of the deal, the Browns will get the Eagles eighth overall pick, as well as their third and fourth rounders this year, plus their first round selection next year and a second rounder in 2018. The birds will only get the second overall pick in this year’s draft and Cleveland’s fourth round pick this year.
The move gives Philadelphia their pick at one of two quarterbacks in this year’s class (Carson Wentz & Jared Goff), whichever the Los Angeles Rams don’t select.
The Eagles have been moving pieces this offseason like Madden NFL career mode, offloading DeMarco Murray to the Tennessee Titans, sending Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso to the Miami Dolphins, and trading Mark Sanchez to the Denver Broncos.
