Clippers Overcome All, Win Against Warriors in an Emotional Game 5.
“Effectively immediately, I am banning Mr. Sterling for life from any association with the Clippers organization or the NBA. Mr. Sterling may not attend any NBA games or practices. He may not be present at any Clippers facility, and he may not participate in any business or player personnel decisions involving the team.”
These words announced by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver gave us back the game we all love. The Clippers took to the court with a focus that landed them in a playoff position and came out of Staples Center with a 10 point win. The emotionally charged win makes both fans and players of the NBA happy and offered a somewhat calming effect. An incredibly energized DeAndre Jordan led the team with 25 points and 18 rebounds, while Blake Griffin and Chris Paul added 18 and 20 points respectively. The series is now at 3-2 and with this momentum the Clippers have the potential to close out the series in Oakland. They are playing with a purpose right now. Doc Rivers, who previously stated he would not be returning next season if Sterling was the owner had the nothing but positive comments following Silver’s conference.

“I thought Adam Silver today was fantastic. He made a decision that really was the right one that had to be made. I told the players about the decision and I think they were just happy there was a resolution and it’s over or at least the start of it. I was just really proud of them and I’ve been proud of the players in the NBA overall, I’ve been proud of the ownership throughout the league and I think we’re all in a better place because of this.”
Chris Paul, Clippers All Star Guard and the President of the Players’ Union issued a statement before taking the floor last night saying “In response to today’s ruling by the NBA and Commissioner Silver, my teammates and I are in agreement with his decision. We appreciate the strong leadership from Commissioner Silver and he has our full support.”
