Seminoles top all in 2014 pre-season AP poll, but Ohio State & Oklahoma surprisingly end up as top 5.
For the first time since 1999, the Florida State Seminoles start a season as the no. 1 overall ranked team. Following their victory earlier this year against the Auburn for the BCS national championship game, Jameis Winston paired that achievement alongside his Heisman Trophy; which shouldn’t be a surprise to many with their current seeding.
The team nearly received an unanimous decision, but we know there’s no way one person from the A.P. media panel doesn’t vote for Nick Saban and his Alabama Crimson Tide. They came in at no. 2, followed by the Oregon Ducks at 3, Oklahoma Sooners at 4 and the Ohio State Buckeyes to round out the top 5. Regular season action begins next Wednesday on August 27th, as we expect the seedings to remain the same until the big match-ups in October.
