Wooooooooooooooooo!!!!
Sunday afternoon, the Cincinnati Bengals traveled to Lucas Oil Stadium, for a wild card weekend match-up against the Indianapolis Colts. Already without their best receiver A.J. Green, the Bengals were also missing tight-end Jermaine Gresham in action and looked to Giovani Bernard and others to provide much-needed help.
Unfortunately, their offense had one of their poorer outings collectively, only obtaining 144 yards through the air. While both teams struggled horrifically with the run game, the Colts had enough on the strength of Andrew Luck’s arm alone to pull away with the victory. Adam Vinatieri accounted for nearly half of the team’s 26 points, chipping in four field goals to keep their lead in-tact through though the second half.
With Luck finishing for nearly a 400-yard performance in their first playoff game, T.Y. Hilton had an impressive 6 receptions and 100-plus yards to compliment the team’s offense. Sadly, this marks yet another playoff loss for Marvin Lewis, making his record now 0-6 as a head coach in the postseason – tied with Jim Mora for the worst playoff record of a head coach all time with at least 5 games. The Colts now shift their focus to the Denver Broncos, who have been healing up this weekend for an epic game at Mile High next weekend.
