For weeks the media has been drumming up this quarterback controversy in Dallas because Tony Romo is almost set to go. It doesn’t help that Jerry Jones won’t commit to young Dak Prescott, but the rookie looks like the bonafied leader of the squad.
It couldn’t be any more apparent than today against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Although he struggled through the game, Prescott knows how to win and continues doing it. After tying the game in the fourth quarter with a touchdown to Dez Bryant and sending the game to overtime, it was him and Ezekiel Elliott who carried the Cowboys in extra time.
After a pass to Cole Beasley and some big gains by Zeke, Dak scrambled out of a sack and found Jason Witten for the touchdown to win the game.
And look how Jerry celebrated the win up in the sky box. With kisses.
The Cowboys now improve to 6-1 and top the NFC standings with the best record. The only team better than them at the moment is the New England Patriots at 7-2, followed by the Minnesota Vikings at 5-1 and then the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders who are at 6-2.
Rest in peace Tony Romo as a starter?
