This weekend, NBA Free agency is starting, as multiple stars are planning to pair up for more added damage to this league the great LeBron James has created.
While this nonsense is going on with most players on both sides, Damian Lillard is doing something a lot of players are scared to – stay home and try to win a championship with the team you have.
Paired up with CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic returning from a compound fracture in his left leg, Portland has a good shot to continue to build around their core talent.
We’re all in favor of players staying put with the team they’ve helped build, that are also on the cusp of achieving greatness. However, most players are too afraid of challenging themselves to dethrone super teams like Golden State (with Kevin Durant) and now, the Los Angeles Lakers.
We commend Mr. Lillard for not being a coward, and staying with the team that built things up through the draft. This move will lead to him being a future champion, without any asterisks by his name.
