The President of UFC debunks company sale
Yesterday, reports surfaced that UFC owners were planning to sale their company to a group of four bidders for up to $4 billion dollars. The story, which was originally reported as an exclusive to ESPN.com has now been debunked the company President, Dana White.
Earlier today, Dana called into Fox Sport’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd, to address all of the rumors; including Anderson Silva undergoing gall bladder surgery this week – which removed him from this Saturday’s UFC 198 event. With earnings increasing $50 million over the last twelve months and a new television deal in 2019 that could double annual revenue, investors are interesting.
However, White joked that he would take the deal in a heartbeat if it could make him a billionaire. Due to confidential information during deals, these things aren’t usually discussed publicly, so the current group of Zuffa LLC owners are likely to keep the company for the immediate future.
Before things closed out, he went to talk the rumored Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather super fight. He explained how either fighter stepping onto unfamiliar turf, even if it generated a huge pay day for both, just simply wouldn’t work for either brand.
