Today is arguably one of the worst days in the history of the NBA, looking at the league from a futuristic perspective. David Stern is officially stepping down from his reigns as the NBA commissioner after serving head of the league for exactly 30 years to the day.

Mark Tatum will soon become a league villain for those not in the known at midnight. While some of the NBA new implemented rules may not have been favorable for the masses, Stern has only tried to better the league over the years including an age limit (we think should increase to avoid underdeveloped players plaguing the league) and the infamous dress code.

Before Stern sails off into the sun in a few hours, he sits down with ESPN’s Mike Tirico to discuss his tenure and legacy as the commissioner for nearly half his life.

Check after the jump to watch the “SportsCenter Conversation,” where Stern talks changing the league from tape delays to live games, Magic Johnson changing the league’s focus to social matters in the world, the Dream Team, Michael Jordan, LeBron James and more.
