Raptors lose best player indefinitely after Friday night injury

Friday night, the Toronto Raptors were looking to extend their 6-gane win streak against Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks. Since the start of the NBA season only five weeks ago, the Toronto Raptors have jumped out the game with a 13-3 to lead all teams within the Eastern Conference. While some are even considering them a legit threat to give Chicago and Cleveland problems in the future, deep playoff experience is still needed for them to overcome that hurdle. However, the team may be in trouble heading forward, as their star player DeMar DeRozan will be out of action for an unspecified amount of time due to a torn left adductor longus tendon.

The team announced Saturday night he would be out of action indefinitely after his nasty spill in the middle of the third quarter. Throughout his five seasons, DeRozan has missed only 11 games his entire career and will be missed in his time away from team. With the Raptors now missing their 19 points-per-game from DeMar a night, he’s being targeted to miss four weeks of action, in time for an return before their New Year campaign.
