The last push for the Broncos while Manning is there
After getting the franchise tag earlier this year to remain his services for the next year and contract talks throughout the offseason (he turned down to sign the 1-year, $12.823 million tender), Demaryius Thomas and the Denver Broncos have reached an agreement.
Before the 4pm EST deadline, the two sides have reached a deal worth $70 million dollars over five years, including $43.5 million guaranteed money.
The Broncos Pro-Bowl selection wanted a long-term deal and the guaranteed figure was the subject of their discussions, but executive VP of football operations and general manager John Elway wanted to make sure this deal got done so Thomas could remain on the team for a long time.
This new contract makes him among the highest paid at the position, matching the deal Dez Bryant just got from the Dallas Cowboys.
Denver and Demaryius Thomas reach agreement on matching 5-year, $70 million deal that includes $43.5M GTD, per source.
