Detriot Lions, Reggie Bush Agree To 4-Year/$16M Deal

Bush Leaves South Beach For Chance At Contention In The D’.

Ex Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush rushed for over 2,000 during his two year tenure with the Miami Dolphins; but now both parties are apparently moving in different directions. Since Free agency began yesterday afternoon, the Dolphins have already agreed to deals with signing Mike Wallace and Dannell Ellerbe both to large deals and franchise tagging Pro-Bowler Randy Starks.

Reggie Bush has now agreed to a new 4-year deal with the Detroit Lions which will bring an instant and much needed boost to their struggling offense for next season. Last season, the Lions had high expectations for the 2012 season after their impressive 2011 season which they achieved a playoff berth for the first time since 1999.

Last season the Lions never got off to a great start losing 4 of their first 6 games and then losing their last 8 games which would essentially give them the worst record in the NFC. Now with Reggie Bush joining Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford, the expectations heading into this season are a bit higher as now with a proven running back who can rush for over a thousand yards next year will free up their long ball game giving opponents secondary’s confusion on the field whether to play the rush or the long ball.

Detroit also signed former Seahawk defensive-end Jason Jones to a new 3-year deal along with cornerback Chris Houston and safety Glover Quin which they are making a statement to the rest of the league signing quality players in hopes of achieving a Super Bowl in the future. Reggie who has a ring, will bring his veteran experience to the young and hungry Lions who will need all the leadership they can not to have another flop season.
